a very nice trip from London is by train to Eastbourne. Eastbourne is located on the English south coast and can be reached by train within an hour and a half. After arriving at Eastbourne station, walk through the town center towards the beach, which is clearly signposted. When you arrive at the beach, you immediately notice the pier. This popular pier has several shops, cafes and restaurants.
chalk cliffs and Beachy Head
about 5 km from Eastbourne are the highest chalk cliffs in England, the highest point of which is the famous Beachy Head. An open-top tour bus runs every 45 minutes from the pier in Eastbourne to the chalk cliffs from April to October. This bus stops at several places: Beachy Head, Beachy Head lighthouse, Birling Gap, East Dean and then back to Eastbourne. You can get off at any point along the way and take the next bus. During the months that the bus is not running, the regular service to Brighton can be taken.
Beachy Head is a very imposing place. the chalk cliffs descend steeply with a height of 162m. But the Seven Sisters, get off at the Birling Gap stop, are also very impressive to see. The Seven Sisters are seven abutting chalk cliffs on the coastline.
Then back to Eastbourne for some shopping.
