the Emirates Cable Car, which runs from the O2 Arena near Greenwich to the Royal Docks, offers a spectacular crossing of the River Thames. The total length of the cable car is about 1 km and the maximum height reached is no less than 90m. From this height the views are fantastic. The Thames Barrier, Canary Warf, the O2 Arena and the Olympic Park are some of the sights to see.

Also known as the “London Cable Car”, the Emirates Cable Car was opened in celebration of the 2012 Summer Olympics and is named after the airline Emirates Airlines.

A single journey takes about 10 minutes and costs £5 for an adult and £2.50 for a child. Tickets can be bought in advance or in the ticket machine at the cable car.

A ride with the cable car can also be combined with a visit to the O2 Arena, which is right next to it.
