Greenwich Park

Greenwich Park is one of the most popular parks in London, and for good reason. With its beautiful views of the River Thames and Canary Wharf, the park is perfect for a relaxing walk or a picnic on a sunny day. The park is open all year round and admission is free. The park has been designated as a national monument.

The special thing about Greenwich Park is that it is located on a hillside, which gives you very nice views over the Thames and Canary Wharf on the other side of the Thames. In the lower part on the north side there is a popular playground, a small lake for boating and a herb garden. A flower garden can be found in the higher part of Greenwich Park. There are also tennis courts, a cricket pitch, a bandstand and a deer park.

Royal Observatory

at the top of the hill is the Royal Observatory Greenwich, a famous observatory. The zero meridian runs right through this observatory, which is marked by a bronze line inlaid into the observatory’s stone floor.

Events at Greenwich Park

Numerous events take place in Greenwich Park throughout the year. Whether you’re looking for something to do with the family, or feel a little more adrenaline pumping through your body, there are plenty of events to suit all tastes. There are running competitions and films are regularly shown in the outdoor cinema. There are also regular music concerts.
