Greenwich Park is one of the most popular parks in London, and for good reason. With its beautiful views of the River Thames and Canary Wharf, the park is perfect for a relaxing walk or a picnic on a sunny day. The park is open all year round and admission is free. The special thing about Greenwich Park is that it is located on a hillside, which gives you very nice views over the Thames and Canary Wharf on the other side of the Thames. In the lower part on the north side there is a popular playground, a small lake for boating and a herb garden. A flower garden can be found in the higher part of Greenwich Park. There are also tennis courts, a cricket pitch, a bandstand and a deer park.
Royal Observatory
at the top of the hill is the Royal Observatory Greenwich, a famous observatory. The zero meridian runs right through this observatory, which is marked by a bronze line inlaid into the observatory’s stone floor.
