one of the most popular markets in London is Borough Market. It is a market that has existed for more than 1000 years. The market is a few minutes walk from London Bridge station in the old part of Southwark. The market and surrounding 19th-century streets lie behind Southwark Cathedral and not far from The Shard skyscraper.
Under the railway bridge at London Bridge station you can walk from one stall full of treats to the next. Cakes, delicious sandwiches, exotic fruit, freshly caught fish, a lot of meat and stacks of cheeses, everything is available here. It is very nice to sit down, enjoy a glass of wine, a cup of coffee or a juice while watching people walk by.
At the Borough Market you can eat well and cheaply. There are many restaurants and eateries under the railway.
There are many events in Borough Market throughout the year. Festivals are organized, lectures are given by writers and you can attend demonstrations by chefs.
