the O2 Arena

the O2 Arena, also known as the Millennium Dome, is a huge event complex built to celebrate the third millennium. The official opening was on December 31, 1999. The O2 Arena is located on the Thames east of London, just past Greenwich.

The building has a diameter of 365 m, making it one of the largest buildings in Europe. All kinds of events take place in the O2 Arena: the ATP World Tour Finals (tennis), NBA matches (basketball), Cirque du Soleil (world-famous circus) and Dancing on Ice. Concerts are also often given in the O2 Arena, there is room for 20,000 visitors.

The O2 Arena is also home to a large outlet center with a wide variety of shops and boutiques. click here for a map with all shops.

climb the roof of the O2 Arena

it is possible to climb the roof of the O2 Arena. The tour takes a total of 90 minutes and from a height of 52m you have a fantastic 360 degree view of London.

emirates cable car

the Emirates Air Line cable car starts next to the O2 Arena, a cable car that takes you across the Thames in about 10 minutes.

the O2 Arena is accessible via North Greenwich Underground Station. The station on the Jubilee Line is one of the largest stations on the London Underground, with a capacity of 20,000 passengers per hour to handle the flow of visitors to The O2
